Earth-touch.com is a site that has a wonderful collection of incredible video footage of the natural world including animals and the environment. You can download the videos in standard definition or HD, or stream it directly from their site.

Tag Galaxy

Tag Galaxy is a visually cool site that allows you to explore relationships between words. Type in a word and the screen becomes a floating model of a galaxy with the original word at the center and words that are similar or associated with it orbiting around it.
If you click on the word in the center, a globe populates with pictures from Flickr that are tagged with that word. If you click on one of the other words that are orbiting around the original search word, you will get a combination of the terms and pictures related to both, as well as a new galaxy model with further choices of related terms. The more orbiting words you choose, the more specific your pictures will be.

Tag Galaxy is great way to visualize word and idea relationships.

picture.of.a is a is a search engine designed to find free pictures. There are several categories that you can look there or you can do a search for a specific word. While there are large amount of free pictures on the site, you are limited to what categories are there. For example, I searched for the term "tree" and was redirected to pictures for "plants".

Where's George

Where’s George is a site that tracks the travel of dollar bills through circulation. You can follow any denomination of currency by entering the serial number on the bill, enter your current zip code and learn about where the bill has been. If your bill doesn’t have a tracking history, you can start tracking it. Add a short note about the bill including where it was found, what condition it is in, etc. You can choose to receive an email when the next person finds and records the bill’s next location. In addition to tracking bills, you can view a report by zip code, state, bill denomination, or county.

Enter the dollar serial number as a class at the beginning of the school year, record information about it, and write the Where’s George web address on the dollar.
